Origin: This is a special order of the National Palace Museum (NPM) to celebrate its 90th anniversary and the grand opening of The Hub of Asia Diversity at its Southern Branch. This is also a three-party cooperation project among NPM, KKL, and Franz Collection Inc. Under the project, four stunning Franz porcelain bottles are designed based on the following four NMP collections: Flower Basket by Kao Li of the Song dynasty, Paintings on Up the River During Qingming of the Qing court version, Palampore with the Tree of Life Pattern of India, and Inlaid Urn from the Mughal Empire. Based on the age of liquors: 18 years, 8 years, 19 years, and 5 years of premium KKL sorghum liquor, products are named: Amidst the Flowers a Jug of Wine, Peace and Joy, NMP Southern Branch Anniversary, and Fine Wine.
Package design: By combining the rare cellar KKL sorghum liquor with the oriental Franz porcelain, the prosperity, joy, and blessings in life are expressed through the creative bottles. Flower Basket by Kao Li of the Song dynasty depicts a rattan basket filled with flowers including common camellias, water lilies, plum blossoms, winter daphnes, and cloves. These interwoven flowers are presented in an elaborate and realistic style, a typical scholarly painting style in the Song dynasty. Amidst the Flowers,a Jug of Wine is inspired by Flower Basket and creates a flowering scene of wealth and prosperity. The stunning red backdrop contrasting with the blossoming white flowers in the foreground spreads the idea of joy, blessing, and prosperity.
Liquor: The 18-year-old (XO) sorghum liquor is made based on KKL’s legacy solid grain fermentation process. After distillation, the liquor is aged for 18 years in the cellar, where natural cool air blends the liquor’s aroma. Lastly, distillers blend the liquor that delivers a perfect aroma and mouthfeel. This 18-year-old sorghum liquor features a strong aged aroma; a rich body; and a velvety, pure, and long-lasting taste. This is a top-quality sorghum liquor blended for connoisseurs.
